Teachers Latin America has created this Hiring Fair to support the recruitment
and employment of qualified, certified experienced teachers to teach mainly in English and to teach all
subject areas. The main organizations that we chose to tailor this event for include but are
not exclusive to The American Association of American Schools in Mexico (ASOMEX) and
The Association of American Schools of Central America, Colombia, Caribbean and Mexico
(Tri - Association). These are the main schools that make up our clientele and are the type of
schools that make up the majority of the international schools population in Latin America. Due to that,
Teachers Latin America felt it necessary to provide those that we are most dedicated to with the Teachers
Latin American Hiring Fair specifically designed to best suit their staffing needs.
These schools, while mostly being American type schools, also employ a broad range of curriculum. Not only
do these schools use US based curriculum, which in recent years has been based around the Common Core,
but they also utilize the AP, IB PYP, MYP and DP as well as many progressive reading, writing, and
mathematical programs for Primary learners. Most of the schools, if not all, belonging to these two
organizations, are accredited by US based educational accreditation agencies such as SACS
(Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) or other US or international accreditation agencies. This
accreditation insures the quality of the schools and its working conditions are up to standard.
Some of the schools can be very small schools with a close and familiar community where everyone knows
everyone. It is not uncommon for teachers to be friends with parents of the students that they teach as
well as others who have a stake in the community. Some of the schools can be rather large like schools
in the USA but most times the primary, middle and upper schools are all housed on the same campus or
locations very close to each other to share resources and community.
The international teaching community is a warm, friendly environment where people from different countries
and cultures come together to provide education for the children of international business executives,
diplomats, expats living abroad, education professionals working at the school and members of the local
community that want an international education for their children. These schools usually serve as the
centerpiece of each of these communities with a strong focus on a well-rounded education.
